The Last Week of School

The last week of school was crazy for us, just like it was for most families. Sara had her ballet dress rehearsal one night and the performance the next. She did a wonderful job and we loved seeing her hard work pay off. I believe we have convinced her to stay with ballet one more year. We all went out to G's Dairy for ice cream after the performance. Phyllis, Sienna, and Grandpa T came up for the performance. Phyllis and Sienna stayed until Friday evening, but Grandpa T had to go back home the next day. We are very blessed to have family who love and support us.

Sara finished the third grade earning straight A's the entire year. She also reached her AR reading goals all three tri-mesters. We are very proud of her. She takes it in stride and goes on with her life.

Charlene and I spent this past Saturday moving all of our "stuff" from a storage unit to the crawlspace under our home. It took literally all day but now we can save the money from the storage rental for other, more important things. Charlene worked extremely hard...I am very lucky to be married to her. She loves to work with me, I love to work with her, and we hope that as we involved the children more and more as they are able they will also love to work with us. Caleb already does. The principle of hard work is such an important part of a happy life. We were very tired Saturday night when we finished, but were filled with the quiet satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

In The Beginning...

I hope that blogging will be the key to what has eluded me for many years, capturing the wonderful, important events and experiences that make up our lives. We have so much to be grateful for and this gives me an additional way to crytalize and express my gratitude for the goodness of Father in Heaven.

Caleb "graduated" from pre-school this pastWednesday. His program was very cute and gave us lots of laughs. His favorite part was a joke he participated in telling. It goes like this: "Hey, can I have some of your cheese? No way man, that's Nacho cheese!"

Sara finishes the third grade this Friday. She never stops moving and I think it caught up with her this past Friday. She was sick all night and spent the day Saturday recovering.

Three weeks ago we purchased a puppy and named her Annie. She is a Bichon Frise and a wonderful addition to our family. We hope to be able to adopt another child, but the puppy will have to suffice until a birth mother chooses us.

We've all been a little under the weather this week, so the holiday comes at a great time. We had hopes of getting a great deal done in the house, (we're doing some remodling) but it has mostly been a weekend of rest and recovery for us.
